The ‘Semantics’ Launch Party – Success!

We had a great night last Monday. It was the official release of Pete Briley’s new single and to celebrate we held a launch party at the Music Room at Pizza Express, Maidstone. Pete performed an awesome set which climaxed with the new single, ‘Semantics’. Also playing were local acoustic heroes, Lucy Holiday and Fred Clark.

The night was a huge success, we completely sold out the intimate little venue and had some extremely positive feedback from both the venue and the crowd. And let’s face it, everybody loves a pizza!

Now things get really busy as Pete embarks on his WhistleStop Tour. Between the 31st October and the 1st November, Pete is performing 5 gigs in 4 cities in 2 days as part of the promotion of our releasing ‘Semantics’. He’ll be in Leeds (twice), Sheffield, Manchester and York before coming home for a well-earned rest!  Full touring details are on his website: www.petebriley.com

Hello!

We are Tin Robot Records, a new indie label based in the South East of the UK.

Musicians may have read about us in the magazine Playmusic Pickup, available Free in most good music instrument retailers. We are committed to releasing quality new music and not allowing our artists to foot the bill. Too many indie labels are making bands pay for all of their recording costs before the label will release their music, meaning that if a band can’t afford it – they may not get the exposure they need and we think this just isn’t right! The music industry is struggling and as a result, new talent is largely ignored.

We network with many proffessionals from multiple artistic disciplines who share our philosophy and work a gratis to put the music first.

We currently represent Pete Briley, one of the most talked-about underground acoustic artists of the last two years. He was named one of the 15 best acts in Leeds in 2008 and this year won Playmusic Pickup’s ‘Best Unsigned Solo Act 2009′ award. His first single with us is called ‘Semantics’ and will be released online on the 26th October 2009.

We also represent Kaleidophone, a fantastic, energetic indie band from Kent. Their music is strikingly original and they have found themselves the subject of much praise over the airwaves of BBC Kent and other local radio stations. Their single ‘Fat Cats’ will be released later in the year.
